Do I need any experience to start CrossFit?

Zero required! Every workout is scalable, so your coach adjusts the movements, weight, and intensity to match wherever you're starting from. Plenty of our members had never touched a barbell before their first class - you don't need to "get in shape" before you start, that's literally what we're here for.

What should I wear to my first class?

Think comfy, move-around clothes - athletic shorts or leggings and a tee you don't mind sweating in. No need for fancy gear, just come ready to move.

What should I bring?

A water bottle, sneakers you can move in, and a good attitude. That's really it - we'll handle the rest.

What should I expect in my first class?

A warm welcome, a coach who checks in with you before things kick off, and movements scaled to your ability. Classes typically include a warm-up, some skill or strength work, and a conditioning workout (we call it the "WOD"). You'll never get thrown into anything you're not ready for.

Do you offer a free trial?

Yep - new members can try classes before joining, no strings attached. Head to our Try Us Out page or reach out directly and we'll get you scheduled.

Is CrossFit safe? I've heard it causes injuries.

Like any strength and conditioning program, safety comes down to coaching quality and listening to your body, not the workout itself. Our coaches are certified and focus on proper form before ever adding intensity or weight, and every workout is scaled to your ability. If you're nursing an old injury or health condition, just give us a heads up and we'll set you up for success.

What if I'm nervous or intimidated to walk in for the first time?

Totally normal - honestly, that's the hardest part! The second you walk through the door, you'll realize this is one of the most welcoming rooms you'll ever sweat in.

How long before I start seeing results?

Most people feel a difference in energy and strength within a few weeks, and the community keeps you coming back long enough to see the bigger changes too.

Is CrossFit good for beginners?

Absolutely - classes are always mixed, so brand-new members sweat right alongside our most seasoned athletes, and nobody's watching your journey but you.

Do I need to be a certain fitness level to join?

Nope. Our programming works for complete beginners, weekend warriors, and competitive or elite athletes alike - the workout is the same, but the weights, reps, and movements are scaled to you individually.

I'm over 50 - is CrossFit still for me?

Absolutely. A growing number of our members are in their 50s, 60s, and beyond, training for strength, balance, bone density, and independence as they age, with coaches experienced in working with older athletes.

I'm a mom with a packed schedule - how do I fit this in?

We offer classes throughout the day, including a midday 12-1pm slot that works well for parents juggling school schedules. Plenty of our members are moms who've found our community makes it easier to stay consistent.

Do you have programs for teens?

Yes - athletes 14 and up can join our youth program for $65/month, unlimited classes, no contract. It's built for young athletes looking to build strength, speed, and mental toughness.

What are your membership options and pricing?

Open Gym is $65/month for 24-hour access, 3x/Week is $145/month, and Unlimited is $165/month - both the 3x/Week and Unlimited plans include two nutrition coaching sessions per year. Want flexibility? Grab a 10-class punch card for $200 (valid 6 months), or lock in a discounted annual rate. Personal training and nutrition coaching are also available as add-ons.

Is there a contract, or can I cancel anytime?

It's month-to-month, no long-term contract - we just ask for a 30-day cancellation notice.

How do I book classes?

We use an app-based platform for booking classes and tracking your progress, all in one place.

Do you offer drop-ins for visiting CrossFit athletes?

Yes! $25 for a single class, or $65 for a week-unlimited pass.

Is nutrition coaching included in membership?

3x/Week and Unlimited members get two sessions per year at no extra cost; additional sessions with our Nutritional Practitioner are available to anyone.

Do you offer personal training in addition to group classes?

Yep - single sessions and 10-packs available for one-on-one coaching built around your goals.

Where are you located, and what areas do you serve?

781 Village Way, Monroe, WA 98272, serving Monroe, Sultan, Snohomish, Duvall, Maltby, Woodinville, Lake Stevens, Gold Bar, Granite Falls, Startup, and surrounding areas.

What classes does CrossFit Monroe offer?

CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, and Mobility, with strength and sport-specific work built right into CrossFit programming.

What's the difference between CrossFit, personal training, and Olympic weightlifting classes?

Group CrossFit is coached, community-driven workouts; personal training is one-on-one; Olympic weightlifting hones in on the snatch and clean & jerk.

What is Olympic weightlifting, and can I learn it here?

It includes the snatch and clean & jerk - technical, powerful lifts. Coaches teach from the ground up, whether you're brand new or chasing a PR.

What is Hyrox, and do you offer it?

A global fitness racing format combining running with functional stations. We support Hyrox-style competitors alongside traditional CrossFit athletes. CrossFit Monroe is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hyrox.

Do you offer strongman or powerlifting-style training?

Not as separate classes, but heavy lifts, carries, and functional strength are woven into our CrossFit programming.

Do you offer sport-specific training for athletes?

Built into regular CrossFit and youth programming rather than a standalone class.

Are your coaches certified?

Yes - CrossFit Level 1 & 2, Gymnastics, USAW Level 1, NASM, CPR, and First Aid certifications among others.

Is CrossFit good for weight loss?

Yes - CrossFit Monroe combines strength training, high-intensity conditioning, and nutrition coaching to help you burn fat, build lean muscle, and keep the weight off long-term. Many of our members join specifically for weight loss and see results within their first few weeks.

Do you offer HIIT classes?

Yes. Many of our group classes incorporate high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to build cardiovascular fitness, burn calories efficiently, and keep workouts fast-paced and fun.

Do you offer powerlifting or strength-focused training?

Yes - alongside our Olympic weightlifting program, we offer strength and powerlifting-focused training centered on the squat, bench press, and deadlift, with coaching to help you lift heavier safely.
